© 2009 Buxton Mountaineering Club

More than 30 years old the Buxton Mountaineering Club has in excess of 60 members of all ages and abilities.

Located in the centre of the Peak District we have access to a vast amount of climbing, from Stanage to The Roaches and all points in between. We have even been known to go scrambling,  walking and mountain biking.

The club meets to climb every Tuesday evening from the end of March when the clocks change to Mid-September (when the clocks change again)and we hold monthly weekend meets throughout the UK. You can find all the details on the calendar.

During the winter we meet in The Cheshire Cheese on the market place in Buxton from about 9:30 pm.

We try to get out to Awesome Walls in Stockport on at least one evening a week during the winter. (Or even in the summer if it’s a C*%p one.)

Originally begun in 1978 by a small group of local friends, many of whom are still members, the club has thrived over the years and is always on the lookout for new members.

So, if you’re looking to move from indoor walls to the great outdoors or maybe you have only been climbing for a while but wish to improve or perhaps you have been climbing for years and are highly experienced and want to get out climbing with like minded people then come along and join us.
